The figures displayed that RIM is still leading the way with 43 percent of the total SmartPhone souk share which represents a rise of 1.7 on the earlier quarter.
Subsequent in second place is the Apple iPhone with just over a quarter of the share at 25.1 percent so sales of iPhones have nearly stood still unless you call an upsurge of 0.3 percent anything special.
Microsoft is managing to hold on to third place with 15.7 percent but saw quite a steep drop of 4 percent in the preceding three months.
Now here’s one to watch. Android is filing onward and has exceeded Palm to take up 4th place.
Android pones now account for 7 percent of the souk share for SmartPhones in the United States but this is a huge leap onwards of 4.3 percent up from the preceding quarter.
Palm now inhabit fifth place in the rankings with 5.7 percent, after plummeting 2.1 percent since the last results.
