LG has just confirmed the Ally Android phone, previously known as the Aloha. Apparently, the smartphone will launch on May 20th, most likely on Verizon, although LG didn’t mention any carrier in its press release. Since we’re still in the whole Iron Man 2 hysteria, the mobile phone will include tons of content related to the movie, in case you’re interested.
What’s really nice is that among the Iron Man content there’s also an augmented reality application of some kind, that sounds like a reason to buy the handset on its own. Till it’s launch time we’ll be seeing a special LG event in New York, on May 11th, where the company will be showing off the LG Ally and some other Tony Stark-style technology.
LG Ally’s specs include Android 2.1, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Nothing else is known about the slider phone right now besides these basic stats and the release date, but LG is holding an event on May 11th that will likely shed some more light on this exciting phone. Maybe then we will learn how much it costs or which carrier will release it.
