A new gadget from Samsung Electronics which bears the branding of major fashion house Giorgio Armani, while being based on the Galaxy S template, has been given its debut. Fashion labels have had a long history of getting involved with the mobile industry and this seems to be just the latest attempt to make an impression, albeit on a particularly high end smartphones.
Giorgio Armani phone is almost entirely identical to the Samsung Captivate that has been available as a Galaxy S variant in the US. This means it will have a four inch Super AMOLED Touchscreen Display, Android 2.1 and a 1GHz processor, along with a selection of bespoke Armani content, including apps and personalisation elements. The phone comes in an extravagant black box with minimal branding finished in gold. This minimalist design is continued throughout, although a bold logo above the gadget shows its origins.
