N933 Flip Phone In Europe (dual SIM)

Posted by arm On April - 13 - 2010

The N933 smartphone takes the basic ideas of an iPhone and a traditional flip-phone and mashes them together. Created by some no-name Chinese manufacturer, the gold-toned N933 looks just like a basic old-school Concept Phone when closed, but when you flip its lid open, it reveals a 3-inch touchscreen panel, along with an array of apps designed to look like those on an iPhone. Under the hood, the mobile  phone is actually pretty ordinary, with a 320×240 display, and no on-board storage, although you can add up to 2GB of storage with (presumably) an MicroSD card. There’s also a digital camera, but at just VGA resolution, it’s not even worth mentioning. Damn, I mentioned it.  The product description also mentions a full QWERTY keyboard, but I surely don’t see one hiding in there, unless it’s of the on-screen variety. Allthough, there’s an FM radio in there too, but unless it receives Pandora, I don’t really care these days. While it does have dual SIM card slots, it only supports the GSM 900 and 1800MHz bands, so it won’t work in North America.

Concept Phone-Mobiado CPT001

Posted by arm On April - 12 - 2010

Mobiado is pushing the limits when talking about industrial design applied to handset and the Mobiado CPT001 concept phone is simply…strange. Mobiado refers to this new cell phone as an “objet d’art”, blending communications technology with materials from the renaissance period, in other words, mobile meets Parthenon. On the inside is just a rather regular handset but the outside is literally a brick.

If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to industrial design in cell phones, prepare to be wowed by Mobiado’s latest concept phone, the Mobiado CPT001. This new handset concept, which the company also refers to as an “objet d’art”, blends modern-age communications technology with materials that were famously used during the renaissance period. Mobiado has put the sophistication and luxury that the CPT001 concept phone represents in words, saying: Mobiado is consistently guided by a philosophy of doing things differently, and this principle has now given rise to the CPT001 concept mobile phone. Staying on the cutting edge of design required the freedom to push the limits of what a luxury handset can be. The CPT001 is made from one piece of solid marble with gold filled engraved letters and details. The touch screen is made from a single large piece of sapphire. The buttons and watch crown are made from solid gold, with a magnificent gold skeleton mechanical watch movement placed between the Call and End buttons. The company offers no clue as to when such a phone will come to the market.
