It looks like if you’re dying to give the BlackBerry Javelin a try, you’ll be able to do so at the airport. The folks over at CrackBerry have managed to play with the upcoming BlackBerry Javelin at the airport (thanks to a delayed flight), three of them no less. According to them, the BlackBerry Javelin will be marketed as the BlackBerry Curve 8900.

Engadget has managed to get hold of some slides of Verizon’s upcoming BlackBerry Storm. The slides look to highlight the “WOW factors” of the Storm, which sounds a little cheesy, to be honest. Features that the slides confirm include:

* CDMA / EV-DO Rev. A
* Quad-band EDGE and 2100MHz HSPA
* 3.25-inch 480×360 touchscreen display
* Auto-rotation
* 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash
* 1GB onboard memory with microSD card expansion
* 8GB memory card included in the box

Already officially announced on September 10th, the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 (also known as KickStart) is announced in a new silver color in some countries. The press release, in spanish, showing the new silver color. The first clamshell phone from RIM is also in Black and Red color in previous announcement.

Orange and Research In Motion (RIM) announced the launch of the new 3G-enabled BlackBerry Bold smartphone in Romania. With the new BlackBerry Bold smartphone, Orange customers can benefit from high-speed data transfer on HSDPA networks around the world, integrated GPS and Wi-Fi, as well as a rich set of multimedia capabilities.

The BlackBerry Bold smartphone provides wireless access to email, phone, calendar, web, multimedia and many other business and lifestyle applications. Through its integrated GPS, the BlackBerry Bold can pinpoint its exact location to support a variety of location-based applications and services. It also comes with BlackBerry Maps for easy access to directions.

BlackBerry Bold smartphone features include:

MapQuest Launches Free MapQuest 4 Mobile with BlackBerry Support

MapQuest today announced the beta launch of MapQuest 4 Mobile, a free, downloadable application that extends MapQuest.com capabilities to compatible BlackBerry smartphones.

MapQuest 4 Mobile offers users an easy-to-use interface and the same accurate directions and maps they rely on from the MapQuest.com site. Local search is also accessible, enabling users to search for businesses by proper name or category. Additionally, MapQuest 4 Mobile provides hybrid imagery, traffic and incident information as well as a GPS “find me” feature which locates a user and tracks the progress to their destination. MapQuest 4 Mobile also utilizes smaller map tiles allowing for faster downloads and quicker screen refresh.

Sprint and Research In Motion (RIM) announced plans to deliver the BlackBerry Curve 8350i – the newest Nextel Direct Connect-capable BlackBerry smartphone – by the end of 2008. The BlackBerry Curve 8350i will be the latest BlackBerry smartphone to utilize iDEN technology and feature Nextel Direct Connect push-to-talk service. The BlackBerry Curve 8350i will also be the first BlackBerry smartphone from Sprint to offer Group Connect, allowing customers to instantly set up group conversations with up to 20 other participants.
