G-Fone G-588 – Dual SIM Dual mode QWERTY mobile phone

Posted by arm On March - 19 - 2010

G-Fone has now launched their G-588 handset in India which commands a price tag of Rs. 4799, and the G-Fone G-588 can be used in 2 different modes such as GSM plus GSM or GSM plus CDMA, in other words the G-588 is a dual SIM phone. The G-Fone G-588 handset offers the user a QWERTY keypad, integrated Nimbuzz which is a single social networking app for accessing such social networks as Facebook, Twitter, Skype and others.Spec wise the G-Fone G-588 offers a 2.2 inch display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, MP3 player, FM radio, video recording and playback, Bluetooth, Opera Mini, Yahoo, email, phone book, those dual SIMs and expandable memory up to 8GB.

Nowwe have the G-Fone G588, which looks shockingly like a BlackBerry Curve 8900, minus the trackball. Unfortunately, there’s nothing really disappointing about this phone that would make us want to shun it for its striking similarities. And maybe you’re one of the people out there that wants to have a dual SIM BlackBerry device. We don’t think that’s going to happen any time soon, so you should probably lose all hope. But! If you happen to be in India, or are travelling to India soon, here’s your next best thing: a device that can run on either a CDMA or GSM network and social network integration provided by Nimbuz. It’s got a 2.2″ QVGA display.Like we said, there’s nothing terrible about this device. It’s actually not that bad at all. Sure, it doesn’t have the BlackBerry logo on it, but to some people out there, that may not matter. And if you’re in India, this does look like a great option. Of course, if some other rumors are true, maybe you should hold off for a bit longer.

Users in search of a dual SIM BlackBerry smartphone will probably not have one too soon – not an original one and not from RIM, anyway.
But if you’re in India, you can get the G-Fone G-588, which looks like a BlackBerry Curve 8900 with a d-pad instead of a trackball.
