A smartphone bearing the brand of supercar manufacturer Lamborghini has been launched in Hong Kong, bringing all of the pomp and circumstance across from the race track and to the palm of your hand. The Lamborghini Spyder smartphone is set to retail for around £1100 for the basic model, although there are costlier models which bring the price point even further out of reach to the general public.
Though it is very expensive Lamborghini smartphone is a little light on high end specs. The 2.2 inch display is a real minnow compared to the four inch plus devices regularly showcased by mobile providers such as HTC and Samsung. The smartphone’s three megapixel camera and four gigs of onboard storage mean that the specs are roughly on par with a mid range Nokia agdget.
There is an option to have crocodile skin stitched onto the rear of the phone, which is definitely a step up from the plastic and metal usually found on various mobile devices. The display case in which the concept phone is shipped is another work of boutique opulence – it is finished in steel and has pneumatic arms to hold the lid.
