Industrial Handsets By Motorola To Run WinMob 6.1

Motorola will be revising its line of industrial handsets so that they will be able to run Windows Mobile 6.1. While this will be good news for those who use these rugged handsets, if you need one straight away, you’re out of luck, as these updated handsets will only be available from Q1 of 2009. If you’ve got your heart set on Windows Mobile 6.1, you’ll have to exercise some patience to get it.

Motorola AURA

You may love it, or hate it, but Motorola looks set to bring the design of its V70 phone back. Their upcoming Motorola AURA will feature the distinctive swivel design that appeared on the V70. The AURA will have a circular display that will be able to display 16 million colors in 300dpi resolution, which will be protected by a Grade 1, 62-carat sapphire crystal lens. The phone is also hand-sculpted, and will also sport Stereo Bluetooth connectivity. There currently isn’t any information on pricing on this phone just yet, but it doesn’t look like it will be cheap.

Motorola CABO i890, iDEN Handset Coming this Year

Motorola’s finally preparing a RAZR 2-style device, one that supports iDEN and has a 3 megapixel camera. Add an external touchscreen to that, Bluetooth, support for a 6GB SD card and a great piano black body. Seems we’ll even see a ModeShift keypad on CABO, while the rest of the specs are a mystery till now.

There’s even a supposed launch period for the Motorola i890, Q4 2008, so we’re bound to get an announcement soon enough.

Motorola Briq Concept Phone is a Touchscreen Dual Slider

I received an email just the other day, that had a beautiful concept design attached: the Motorola Briq. We’re dealing with a dual sliding beauty, with a very, very strange keypad, a diagonal numeric one on the right and a half QWERTY on the left.
