The myTouch 4G Slide may also have the best camera from HTC, which is an area they have traditionally been quite weak in compared to other smartphone manufacturers. I don’t think it can match what Nokia is doing with their cameras and the claim on the T-Mobile site that it is the “most advanced camera of any smartphone” may be a bit of a marketing phrase. Then again, I will have to give the 8 megapixel shooter a try and see for myself since I do own the Nokia N8.

CUSTOMER REACTION has forced T-Mobile 10 perform a U-Turn on its plans to slash ‘unlimited’ data download limits for current customers. The changes to the Ts & Cs were being examined by Ofcom but in a statement released as we went 10 press the company said: “Following a further review of our policy, thescchanges will now [apply to] new and upgrading customers only – not existing customers”. This means thar current customers will keep their existing “fair use” limitnormally 1GB or 3GB – until rhe end of their contract. The changes T-Mobile first announced significantly lowered the monthly data download limit on all its contracts. T-Mobile said the changes would “affect both new and existing customers”. But although under Ofcom rules companies arc meant to give one month’s notice of significant changes to Ts & Cs, T-Mobile was only giving customers three weeks’ notice.

It was also telling customers thar they could not cancel their contracts if they arc unhappy with the changes. In Twitter messages being sent to disgruntled customers, the mobile operator said: “T-Mobile will not accept rhis change as grounds to cancel your contract as it’s providing reasonable notice that our FUP [Fair Usage Policy] is changing:’ This refusal could have been a breach not only ofOfcom rules but those of the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts regulations. Consumer Direct, the Office of Fair Trading’s advisory service told us: ”A consumer might he able to argue that due to their personal circumstances, they feel the proposed changes are unreasonable because they arc unduly weighted in favour of the provider. They may possibly have a claim against the provider for ‘loss of bargain”‘.

T-Mobile established late on Monday that it is going to shut down its Sidekick service on May 31 2011. Just then, the Microsoft-backed Danger servers will no longer be active and all Sidekick handsets will mislay the costly cloud-based services that define the phone. To lessen displeased patrons, T-Mobile will offer unnamed offers to Sidekick consumers to help them changeover to a latest phone. Web-based tools and in-store acquaintances will also be accessible to help Sidekick users back-up their contacts, emails, photos and more. There is no reveal of how many T-Mobile clienteles will be exaggerated by this conclusion. Many regulars were most likely obsessed away by the large date loss and outage suffered by Danger/Microsoft and its Sidekick brand back in 2009.

Fear not Sidekick fans! Although the Danger servers are being shut down, the Sidekick brand will prolong with Android. A Samsung-made Sidekick 4G was recently spotted in the wild with full Android attire and T-Mobile just launched a Sidekick 4G sign-up page. On the microsoft side of things, this spells the end of Danger which was bought for $500 million in back in 2008. These teams of Danger workers supposedly worked on the now defunct Kin handsets and have been or will be transitioned over to Windows handset. With Nokia’s switch to WP7, perchance the talents of this team can be used to incorporate Nokia’s Ovi cloud services with the Windows Phone platform.

Earlier this week a T-Mobile G2 mini site was launched. The G2 is a step up from the G1 and brings a list of improved features such as a faster processor, more memory, better screen and an updated Android OS. Another feature is that it will be compatible with HSPA+ networks allowing it to receive and send data at 4G speeds on the T-Mobile network.

The new smartphone is expected to have a 3.7 inch screen and also have a sliding QWERTY keyboard as pictures above. One thing we noticed when compared to the G1 is that a row of keys is missing with the QWERTY being the top row with numbers on the shift key.

A design feature sees the chin dropping on the G2. We are unsure why the screen is raised in the picture, but from what we have heard, it doesn’t tilt. Perhaps the G2 opens outwards in an arc rather than the upwards swing of the original.

We’ll continue to watch this one.

T-Mobile fans can now look onward to this phone. T-Mobile has avowed the forthcoming obtainability of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition. The business also proclaimed collaboration with renowned musician and Fender guitarist Eric Clapton to aid in unsealing the latest mobile phone.

The new phone comes with a sexy design and higher qualities to produce an exclusive mobile music experience. Since the handset was planned with the collaboration of Fender, the handset has a Fender guitar sunburst-finish motivated design. The stratagem comprises a 16GB microSD card to contain thousands of songs/videos, a 3.5mm headset jack and a superior music player. The player, provided by HTC, can distribute an impulsive consumer interface that allows toggling between sundry views or for changing a song or album by just touching the album art. The new T-Mobile also lets you create ringtones from songs.

Until now, we’ve found out that the Android-powered Huawei U8220 is coming to T-Mobile Europe as T-Mobile Pulse, but without having details about its price and release date.

Well, it looks like the unannounced Android smartphone will be available starting October this year. At least that’s what a report from Tweakers.net says.

The Pulse U8220 has just appeared on pre-order at a Dutch retailer’s website, priced at €257 (about $366) – free of contract, but locked on T-Mobile’s network.

Although resembling the previous photo of the Pulse, the images made available by the retailer seem to be showing only a reference design, so the final product may look different.

Here’s what we’ve got so far regarding the specs of T-Mobile Pulse / Huawei U8220:

* 3.5 inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels
* HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps
* Wi-Fi
* GPS
* Microsoft Exchange support
* Bluetooth 2.0
* 3.2MP camera
* MicroSD card support

About two months ago, a Huawei representative said that the company would launch an Android smartphone via T-Mobile Europe in Q3 2009. That smartphone should have been the Huawei 8230, officially announced not too long ago.

However, it looks like T-Mobile has another Huawei Android handset prepared, namely the Huawei 8220.

The 8220 has just received a Wi-Fi Interoperability Certificate, and it appears to be named T-Mobile Pulse. Whether or not this has replaced the 8230, or it’s going to be launched together with it, remains to be seen.

The Wi-Fi certificate doesn’t say anything about Android, but the Huawei 8220 is almost certainly an Android phone – Gizmodo Brazil says so and also has a tiny picture of it

According to Giz, the Huawei 8220 has the following features:

* 3.5 inch touchscreen display
* Wi-Fi
* Bluetooth
* 3MP camera
* 256 MB of internal memory, expandable up to 16GB

If both mentioned Huawei phones come to T-Mobile Europe, the carrier will have four Android handsets in its line-up this year (the G1 and G2 Touch included).
