Nokia 6790 Mako Photos

The folks at BGR has published a few pictures of the new Nokia 6790 Mako. The Nokia Mako is a futuristic looking side-slider GSM smarthphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. Samsung t239, Another Cheap Phone For T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile USA is set to launch another affordable Samsung phone called the t239. It is slated to be available this month at the price point of $59.99 for a prepaid service or free on a two year contract.

Specifications are due to include dual band GSM connectivity 850/1900 MHz, a 177 x 220 pixels TFT display, a speakerphone, Bluetooth support, a VGA camera and 10MB of internal memory. T-Mobile’s myFaves unlimited calling to five numbers will be supported, as will Web2go. The t239 is a slider that comes in two color versions; dark scarlet and grey. And from the looks of it, there will be a free $25 refill card used for their prepaid service when you purchase it.

Nokia has recently released some details on the successor to the 6600 slide, the appropriately named 6600i slide.

China Mobile launches the Samsung GT-I6320C TV Phone

Samsung has decided to launch a TV phone for the Chinese market. Since China’s 3G network is now available, Samsung conceived a phone that will deal all Chinese 3G networks. The GT-I6320C phone is going to be handling both TD-HSDPA TD-SCDMA 3G and CMMB networks and it will deliver some TV content to future Chinese 3G subscribers. Details are scarce for now so we expect to offer you more details about the handset in the future.

Video: LG Neon Review

Apart from the standard features that a phone comes with such as contacts, calendar, etc, you will notice that the Neon comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera (with video capabilities). In addition, it has a MP3 Player with FM Radio, Stereo Bluetooth, and can hold up to 4 GB of extra memory.
The overall weight of the Neon is light, only a measly 108 grams so this will not fell heavy in your pocket or hand. More importantly, the 2.4 inch screen will make it easy to write your e-mail/text messages, view pictures, games. However, using the internet on some pages did not render the pages well. We are still testing the battery life on this, but found the call quality (sending and receiving calls) to be clear.

Overall, we really like the Neon and its price point. This decent slider has a full QWERTY keyboard and comes in Pink and Grey. Check out the video review here:

Nokia N79 and N85 blessed with firmware updates

The Nokia N85 and Nokia N79 have both received significant firmware upgrades, to version 20.175. Version 20.175 fixes as always some major bugs but also adds some new functions. It adds turning controls (flip to silent for incoming calls and alarms) and Nokia’s email wizard, together with email notifications on the active idle screen (homescreen). The email wizard (’Set up e-mail’, also known as Gimlet) is now becoming a standard part of Nokia’s S60 devices. As on other devices, you’re offered a choice between Nokia e-mail, which sets up email in the built in Messaging application, and Nokia Email Service (also known as Nokia Messaging), which offers a consumer push email solution for any existing email address.

Other improvements and corrections include Active Idle screen becomes blank in landscape mode, or Active Idle going dead after quickly accepting and rejecting an incoming video call, as well as improvements for the Application Manager, including Wrong Feature Manager flag used for seamless link functionality or The sis file that is installed to MoviNand or SD card that cannot be seen in application manager.

Samsung SCH-W760 to offer infrared video calling

Samsung has launched a new phone which has one remarkable feature. The Samsung SCH-W760 is a handset capable of infrared activities. The front camera is sensitive to infrared spectrum which means you will be able to use it even in dark environments. That means video calls in dark rooms will definitely be possible. Motorola introduces the MOTO W7 Active Edition

Motorola has announced the Moto W7 Active Edition, a slider phone for fitness enthusiasts.MOTO W7 is equipped with an accelerometer that senses your body’s motions, orientation and hand gestures to perform tasks. They can flip the phone to silence an incoming call, snooze the alarm or pause music. Moreover, they are able to shake the W7 twice to launch a favorite application, or flick it to skip songs and images.
The specification list of the new MOTO W7 includes a 2.2” display that can offer a 320 x 240 pixel (QVGA) resolution, Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP, USB 2.0, 30MB of internal memory and an external memory card slot that supports up to 8GB of additional storage space. Bell intros Samsung VICE 3G

Canada carrier Bell Mobility officially launches the Samsung Vice mobile phone. Bell’s continuing the trend of full QWERTY keyboards for texting and email purposes. So, the Samsung Vice is offering yet another sliding QWERTY for a convenient solution for messaging (SMS, e-mail, IM, social networks and etc).

Paul Brannen, General Manager, Wireless Terminal Division, Samsung Electronics Canada explained “This fun and affordable handset addresses the unique needs of thosewho enjoy staying connected through social networking sites, instant messaging, mobile browsing, email and texting.”
