Motorola’s Droid has been by far the most popular Android smartphone to hit the United States souk, selling at a faster pace than the first generation iPhone, and creation up, by some versions, at least 15% of all Android mobile phones in the world.
It was the first handset to takeoff with Android 2.0, a knowingly reshaped version of Google’s mobile OS, and it was the first Android gadget on Verizon.
However it remains a very sturdy user gadget, the Droid’s popularity in the tech civic was hastily overshadowed by Google’s Nexus One, which was hurled only three months later it. The Nexus One became Google’s first endeavor at directly vending smartphones, and the first handset with Android 2.1.
2.1 was only a minor platform upgrade, with no innovative trait as substantial as those brought by 2.0, but it comprised full multi-touch support and nipped the UI with eye-catching animated wallpapers and became an article of wish for Android fanatics.

We shouldn’t be surprised that there’s a ridiculous amount of  Windows Phone 7 Series information coming out, considering the MIX10 event is still going on. As we’ve previously seen, LG already has a handset marked for the Windows Phone 7 Series treatment, but if this image is meant to be believed, then it looks like the company does indeed have another device in the works.

It’s not the Panther, which was originally unveiled a few weeks ago, and then shown off again at MIX10 on Monday, alongside the unnamed Samsung device. The image itself originally appeared on the site Neowin, but has been pulled as of this writing. That could be for a lot of different reasons, but it could be mainly for the reason that the device is real, and a ways away from being launched. Or, it could very well be that it’s fake.

As for details about the device, those are few and far between at this point. It’s said to have a full QWERTY keyboard, which is reminiscent of the Panther. It’s also got a 800×480 pixel resolution for the touchscreen. Our main question, is why LG would be releasing two devices with a hardware, slide-out keyboard. Options are great, but if you make the options too similar to one another, what’s the point? We’re not sure if we’re counting this for a real device yet or not. It makes perfect sense that the manufacturer would have more devices being created, so it’s perfectly possible that this was a legitimate leak.

Google Nexus One!!!

Posted by arm On March - 17 - 2010

The name of a device goes a long way for some people. You don’t want to be the one running around with some hanset with a ridiculous name, right? In the case of Google’s very own Nexus One, it looks like things aren’t going as well as the Mountain View-based company would like. Reports are coming in that the US Trademark Office has officially denied the Google phone’s other, more official name, and that means Google has been put on the spot.

Google filed for the patent last year, on December 10, with a direct connection with handsets. Apparently there is another trademark with the same name, because that’s why the Trademark Office has denied Google’s request. The other mark? That was granted to Integra Telecom in 2008, which relates to “the provision of telecommunication services and the transmission of voice and data.” So  the Trademark Office has gone ahead and assumed that people would be confused by the similarities. We . . . Well, we don’t necessarily agree with that statement.

If Google wants to respond to the Office’s decision, they’ve got six months to do it. In that time, Google can continue to use the Nexus One name for their device. They can continue to use the name until Integra Telecom sues them for infringement. Which, if that does happen, we imagine that a settlement would be just about mandatory, which which Google would pay to continue to use the name. However, if Google can prove to the Trademark Office that their trademark should be supported, then everything could be turned around for the company. Or, if they really wanted to, they could use this opportunity to change the name of the device.

Samsung Jet Ultra Edition to be launched by O2 UK

Posted by arm On March - 17 - 2010

The original Samsung Jet launched nearly a year ago, so it’s about time Samsung released a successor. They may just be releasing the same exact device, with a change not to the phone, but to the price tag. We don’t have a problem with that, as a price drop is never bad. What we’re confused about, is why Samsung is offering the device with gangster movies.
The original Samsung Jet was one of the most popular devices around the world for a long time, even as companies like HTC announced their Android-powered Hero. Considering the hardware powering the phone, we’re not shocked. In fact, the Samsung Jet is one of the fastest devices on the market, still, with some notable exceptions. As we mentioned, the new “Ultra Edition” Jet isn’t much different from the original Jet: It’s got the same 800MHz processor, the same 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen; a 5MP camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and 2GB of on board memory. There’s an expandable MicroSD card slot though, which gives you the ability to expand that memory up to 16GB. It’s also rocking Samsung’s loved TouchWiz 2.0. The device also has several web-links to your favorite social media sites, like MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter, which provides easy access to the mobile versions of those sites.

Nokia continue their march towards global domination of the touchscreen market with yet new smartphone mobile phone. A leaked photo revealed the second member of the Cseries – Nokia C6. Being basically a trimmed-down version of the Nokia N97 flagship, the QWERTY-enabled C6 will appeal to those wanting good all-round functionality on a tighter budget.
Nokia C6 will be the third side-slider in the S60 5th edition family and according to the new naming convention, adopted by the Finnish company it shouldn’t be much pricier than the Nokia C5 (135 euro before taxes). The Nokia C6 only has 256 MB of internal memory (compare to 32 GB in Nokia N97 and 8GB in N97 mini).

The tilting LCD is also removed in the Nokia C6, probably to make space for the extra row on the keyboard. Fortunately, the 3G connectivity and the microSD card slot have been retained. Since there is no official announcement just yet the rest of the specs are pretty much a mystery for now but a nHD (640 x 360 pixels) screen and GPS seem like a perfectly safe bet.

LG GS290 Cookie Fresh

Posted by arm On March - 16 - 2010

Another addition to the growing LG Cookie range is the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh. The Cookie Fresh has many features from the Cookie Plus, but in a simpler package that makes it compete against the popular Samsung Genio / Corby phone.
The LG GS290 Cookie Fresh has a 3″ 240 x 400 pixel touchscreen display, a basic 2 megapixel camera, a multimedia player, FM radio and a 3.5mm audio socket.
This is a GSM-only device with no 3G or WiFi connectivity, and no fancy features like GPS . The Cookie Fresh does come with support for social networking applications including Twitter and Facebook, supports downloadable “widgets” and has a fun cartoon-style user interface.
LG says that the GS290 Cookie Fresh will be provided in 16 different colours, although weguess  that most retailers will only have a couple of these available. At least the wide variety of colours stop if from looking too much like a black slabby handset.
We don’t know exactly when the Cookie Fresh will be available to buy, but we suspect that you won’t have to wait too long to see this particular handset in the shops.

In a recent growth that has taken the handset industry by amazement, US based mobile giant Motorola is going to bale Microsoft’s Bing pursuit service with its Android OS based smart phones in China. This is rather astonishing as Motorola coped to recoil back in the scene owing to its Droid model which also runs Google’s android OSseveral months back. The android based smart phones usually have Google as the default search engine. The move has been avowed by both Microsoft and Motorola.

Motorola has kept mum on the issue, many business insiders are distrusting that the move is a result of the latest war between China and Google over the internet usage policy of the country’s government. Google even endangered to shut down its procedures in China over the issue. It will support Microsoft no doubt which is trying dreadfully for years to grab a share of the internet search market hitherto subjugated by Google. Nevertheless, Motorola has not revealed the amount of deal that it increased because of the agreement with the Redmond based software giant.

Google on its part has thought that it will not allow the Google mobile submissions to be obtainable on the forthcoming Android sets sold from China based operators. Formerly, Google also delayed the launch of two Android based phones in China. Google has not responded to the change by Motorola yet, but the specialists guess that it would not be pleased with the Motorola- Microsoft alliance. Motorola Backflip- launched in the USA bids Yahoo as the default hunt as well.

Palm Pre Plus Appraisal

Posted by arm On March - 14 - 2010

Unlike most of the cookie-cutter handsets on the market today, it is wavy  with almost no visible controls.

The gadget feels delightfully solid in the hand. At just under 5 ounces the Pre Plus is very light. The boundaries and corners are flawlessly rounded, so you won’t feel any uncomfortable jabs or sharp stabs in your palm when holding the phone. The button that was in the gesture area on the original Palm Pre has been detached, making it even shinier and easier to use.

It’s a slight bushier than some strategies on the souk , which is due mostly to the slider design that houses the keyboard behind the screen. It’s still exceedingly pocketable though, so you shouldn’t have any issues with unappealing swells in your pockets.

With its glossy design, you have to look closely to find the ringer/vibrate switch and headphone knave on the top, the volume up/down keys on the left side, and the enclosed charging port on the right side. The back of the phone is totally plain aside from the Palm logo, the camera lens and flash on the top left, and the utterer on the top right.

Microsoft proclaimed the Windows Phone 7 Series and thought that it will become the next generation mobile dais with very good multimedia, gaming, and social media integration competences. We’ve seen a specimen of the mobile Operating System and we were awestruck.  Because Microsoft has beaten Apple and the consumer interface of the WP7S looks amazing. The problem with current Windows Mobile phones is that they won’t be upgradeable to Windows Phone 7 because of hardware necessities.

There is a phone that might support Windows Phone 7 Series, the HTC HD2, but forlornly it features five buttons in its place of three. There are new concerns like the Windows CE. Anyway, Shawn Hargreaves from Microsoft, publicized that Windows Phone 7 Series smartphones will have to be based on 800 x 480 toucschreens. The WVGA resolution will be the only one supported at launch, but HVGA 480 x 320 resolution will be supported thanks to a patch coming in early 2011.

Former Windows Phone 7 requirements are devoted hardware and a powerful processor. This is great for game creators who can let their imagination run wild as there will be a GPU in WP7S handsets.

More new iPhone 4G news, we need to keep mentioning about this all new device, who the carriers will be and just about anything else we find about this device.

There have been loads of speculations and rumours and we have been right up there amongst other sites talking over it, will the iPhone 4G just be called this because it will be the 4th generation model or will it offer 4G service seeing as many companies like Verizon for example testing out 4G LTE.

The next-gen iPhone has been said to be launching June 2010 but we are still sceptical about this release date, some say that we will not get the iPhone 4G until at least 2011, there is no hard evidence as of yet when this Apple device will be releasing so we will continue to speculate like the rest of them.

What we do know is that the new iPhone will have many more features and the design will be a lot sleeker than before, no one knows for definite what the handset will feature but many sites like MOU and ourselves have mentioned high definition camera, 32G to 64G variations, iChat camera on the front of the iPhone. What about OLED display, what about Apple making amends and let the device feature Flash.
